Application Enhancer is a small application that can help you customize and rearrange the way you use applications and programs on the Mac. The aim of Application Enhancer is to improve the running of applications by altering their behaviour without touching the core system. Application Enhancer ultimately aims to enhance both the running and use of applications running on your system. Application Enhancer works by loading plug-ins (known as Application Enhancer modules) into running applications.
Once loaded, these modules perform the modifications you require such as redefining the minimize window action or customizing the standard Apple menu. The positive thing is that it never modifies anything on your disk - all modifications are made virtually so there's no risk of long term damage should something go wrong. There are many different modules you can load into Application Enhancer depending on what you want to modify. However, while some them are useful, many of them amount to nothing more than a bit of resizing that's not going to make a major difference to your working life. Application Enhancer is an interesting application that attempts to modify programs in a very subtle way although it's ultimate usefulness is questionable.
Hi, I have just bought an Application called 'NovaMind' and when I open the program a window appears saying: +'Application Enhancer by Unsanity appears to be installed on this system. It has been known to cause stability and performance issues with some applications including NovaMind.+ +We strongly recommend that you uninstall Application Enhancer from your system to avoid these issues.' + My question is: 1. What happens to other applications if I remove this? Where is this 'Application Enhancer' located?
Now and again I get this pop-up saying me if I want to run an installer. I can't figure out what it is. Can anyone tell me what it is and how to. Application Enhancer 2.6.1 - Framework and system daemon for adding functionality to apps and Mac OS X. Download the latest versions of the best Mac apps at safe and trusted MacUpdate. Application Enhancer is a system which allows for 3rd party modules to modify and enhance the way applications behave and operate. Application Enhancers work on. A topical medicament for use in treating tissues comprising: an enhancer for facilitating non-invasive, transdermal delivery and/or enhancing metabolic effect of a therapeutic dosage of LEVULANĀ® KERASTICKā¢ (aminolevulinic acid HCl) into a tissue.
Should I remove this 'Application Enhancer'? There should be a system preference for Application Enhancer that will let you list applications that shouldn't use it. Out of date Application Enhancers can cause serious problems. Make sure you have the latest version if you are going to keep it.
Application Enhancers add a piece of code between each application (other than those you exclude in its system preference) and OSX. This provides a method to control the application, or intercept its data. For example, I use Audio Hijack Pro to record Real Player audio to the disk. Normally Audio Hijack Pro will start the Real Player application in a way that it can get at the audio data.
If Real player is already running, it has to stop it, then restart it. With Application Enhancer, Real Player already has the code to allow its audio to be available, so it doesn't have to be stopped. Audio Hijack Pro makes Application Enhancer an option. You don't have to install it if you don't mind the limitation with already running applications. I don't use it to minimize potential problems if there are some changes in OSX. You wouldn't have installed Application Enhancer by itself.
You must have installed something that needed it. There should be a system preference for Application Enhancer that will let you list applications that shouldn't use it.
